CLASS RULES, CAR SPECIFICATIONS & COMPETITION RULES
 
  1/10 NITRO PRO DIVISION/15
BODIES AND WINGS: Any ROAR approved (NASCAR type) stock car body, and wing, may be used. Bandit Racing stock car bodies, Protoform Dodge, Ford Taurus, Monte Carlo, and THD, as well as the Wind Tunnel HSI bodies are also legal. Both front side windows may be cut out for ease of marshaling, fueling, and ventilation. Rear window may be cut out for engine clearance and ventilation. A vent opening up to three square inches may be cut in the front windshield for engine cooling. Maximum spoiler height may not exceed the trim mark moulded into the stock spoiler.

CHASSIS: Any ROAR approved pan car chassis may be used, or purpose built chassis of same dimensions.

ENGINES: Engines must remain stock, with no modifications. Engines must be .12 or .15 size, 2-stroke, with stock rotary carburetor and side exhaust, available on the retail market. OS engines must run the stock, OS 10E rotary carburetor. Horsepower rating must not exceed .56HP for .12 size and .68HP for .15 size (manufacturer's specifications) and not exceed 3 ports, (including exhaust). Legal engines for the 2011 season are the OS 12cv, Dynamite 12spd, and OS15cv (box-stock form with stock blue head) non-pull start. Carburetor restrictors are optional unless specified by host track. Aftermarket heads are allowed with a minimum of one head shim in place on .12 size engines only. No turbo heads or plugs are allowed. Engines may be re-built with stock (model/manufacturer) parts only. The Duratrax piston/sleeve #DTXG1520 may be substituted for the stock OS.12 replacement kit due to parts availability, but must remain in stock form, with NO modifications.

NOTE: The OS15cv only comes in a pull start version. The "nipple" on the crank can be cut off to accomodate a stock back plate. NO other modifications are allowed on this engine.

FUEL: 20% nitro fuel only. Fuel can, and will be checked at any time during raceday for nitro content. Track owner may reserve the right to provide fuel for race.

EXHAUST: All cars must run the CEN Racing muffler #MG030, available from Mobile Hobbies. No other muffler will be legal. Exhaust outlet must remain intact, but rubber stinger may be added to divert exhaust. A 6-32 pressure nipple can be added in the "original position" if needed for pressure line. NOTE: The muffler MUST remain attached to the engine, in original position with two screws, for the duration of each race. If it comes loose, but screws remain in engine case, it is legal. If one screw comes out, and muffler becomes detached on one side, or falls off completely, it is illegal.

FUEL TANK: The new Associated (#7719) fuel tank, (WITH THE BLACK LID), will be the only fuel tank legal for the 2009 season. The capacity of this new tank is 72cc (and has no insert to add or remove). Fuel line from tank to carb must not exceed 12 inches in length (including one fuel filter). Pressure line from muffler to fuel tank must be in place, but length is optional.

BRAKES/CLUTCH: All cars must have working brakes, in working order, capable of stopping the car completely and hold it still at idle. Cars must have a working, Associated, MIP, or Losi two-shoe clutch, that disengages at idle
(three and four shoe clutches are not allowed).

Custom-made clutch shoes are not allowed unless available on the retail market. (See note below:)

NOTE: New aluminum clutch shoes are being produced by John Foister of BSR and KSG. These new clutches are available from the manufacturer, only, and are
legal for the 2011 season.

GEAR RATIO: All cars can run gear ratio of choice; unless regulated by host track. No multi-speed transmissions are allowed. Cars must run a solid/straight rear axle with direct drive (one pinion and one spur gear). Limited slip differentials are optional.

WEIGHT: All cars must weigh a minimum of 46 ounces with a full tank of fuel.

TIRES: Any ROAR approved 1/10 scale capped rubber tire, without tread, is allowed. Foam tires are not allowed.

MISCELLANEOUS: All cars must be equpped with a throttle return spring connected to throttle, or a "Fail-Safe" unit to prevent runaways.

NOTICE: These rules are written in the spirit of the sport. These rules stand as written, so if it is not listed here, it is illegal in GASCAR.

1/10 NITRO DYNAMITE .12 DIVISION

BODIES: Any ROAR approved (NASCAR type) stock car body, and wing, may be used. Both front side windows may be cut out for ease of marshalling, fueling, and ventilation. Rear window may be cut out for engine clearance and ventilation. Maximum spoiler height must not exceed 1-1/2 inches from rear deck for cars without wings, and 3/4 inches from rear deck for cars with wings.

CHASSIS: The Bandit, Hyperdrive, Coyote or KSG pan car chassis can be run.



ENGINES: The Dynamite .12SPD non pull-start engine is the only engine legal for this class. Engine must remain "box stock", with stock rotary carburetor, and NO modifications. Engine may be rebuilt with stock Dynamite .12SPD parts only. This means the dish piston and sleeve, #DYN6516, is the only piston and sleeve that is legal, the knife-edged rod, #DYN6520, is the only rod that is legal. Bearings may be replaced with stock Dynamite bearings, #DYN6531 and #DYN6532, or Boca #ENK-162ST or #ENK-162HP steel bearing replacements. NO CERAMIC BEARINGS ALLOWED. The approved .160 carburetor restrictor must be in place, unmodified, and all the way down in the barrel of the carburetor. We recommend using a fuel-resistant glue to make sure the restrictor stays in place.

EXHAUST: All cars must run the HPI A870 muffler. HPI exhaust can be run with the baffle removed. A pressure nipple can be added for functional purposes, but no modifications can be made to enhance performance. Exhaust outlet must remain intact, but rubber stinger may be added to divert exhaust. NOTE: The muffler must remain intact, in original position, with two screws, for the duration of each race. If the muffler comes loose, but both screws remain in the engine case, then it is legal. If one or both screws fall out, and muffler falls out of original position, or comes off completely, then it is illegal.



FUEL TANK: The Associated #7719 fuel tank, with the "Black Lid", is the only legal fuel tank for this class. Fuel line from tank to carburetor must be a maximum of 12 inches (including fuel filter). Pressure line from muffler to tank must be intact, but length is optional

WEIGHT: Minimum weight must be 45 ounces, race ready, with a full tank of fuel.

TIRES: BSR capped radials. Compound/size of choice. No foam tires allowed.



MISCELLANEOUS: All cars must run a throttle return spring connected to the throttle, or a "Fail-Safe" unit to prevent runaways.
